(Emory University) For the first time, researchers have genetically modified a nonhuman primate and captured the clinical features observed in human patients.

This study clearly shows nonhuman primate models have privileges over other animal models in terms of best capturing and studying human diseases.

The ability to create transgenic nonhuman primate models opens more doors for thoroughly studying human diseases and conditions.

Researchers are one step closer to finding better treatments as well as preventions and cures.
