PCs shed pounds, CD drives, gain touch screens

Netbook computers, on display at Best Buy in Mountain View, Calif., have become popular in the past year, even though they don't come with built-in optical drives.<br /><br />They do carry a low price tag — $250 to $350 — and with weights of 2 to 3 pounds make it easy to browse the Web on the go.PCs  are changing.

Visit an electronics store and you might also find laptops are missing a familiar component. You could experiment with new ways of controlling some computers.

And you'll see laptops slimming down.
