Researchers are producing topographical maps of people's healthy and schizophrenic brains in an effort to develop the first scientific tool for early and more definite diagnosis of mental disorders such as schizophrenia.
The scientists have already found differences in the hippocampus in people who have schizophrenia. Diagnosing the beginning stage of mental disorders remains elusive, although this when they are most treatable.
