Jumbo squid spook divers off San Diego

Shanda Magill, manager of San Diego Underwater Adventures, holds the light and buoyancy hose that was was ripped from her by a Humboldt squid last week.Thousands of jumbo flying squid — 5-foot-long sea monsters with sharp beaks and toothy tentacles — have invaded the shallow waters off San Diego, spooking divers and washing up dead on beaches.
