Invention gives improved gene technology analysis

(Norwegian Institute of Public Health) A newly patented invention from Norwegian researchers gives more reliable results in gene technology-based diagnostic tests.

Previously, the state of the art was to use an unprotected internal control reagent to verify the validity of results.

The problem was that it could only be added late in the analysis. The use of tailored coating of the internal control opens for, and enables presence of the control throughout the whole analytical process -- giving improved quality assurance.
