FSU professor to receive prestigious prize in mathematics

(Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics) The W.T. and Idalia Reid Prize in Mathematics will be awarded to Max Gunzburger on Tuesday, July 8, at the 2008 SIAM Annual Meeting in San Diego.

Gunzburger, the Francis Eppes Distinguished Professor of Mathematics at Florida State University, is being recognized for his fundamental contributions to control of distributed parameter systems and computational mathematics.
