Conazoles are triazole compounds, many of which are in wide use as agricultural and medicinal fungicides. Opportunities exist for them to contaminate the environment and, since they are all chiral molecules, they are apt to be degraded enantioselectively by indigenous microbes.
To characterize such enantioselectivity, it is necessary to analyze environmental samples for the separate conazole enantiomers.
