Abstract - Consequence management is an important component of a contamination warning system (CWS) and provides a decision-making framework to plan for and respond to potential drinking water contamination incidents in the distribution system.

This paper will present a modeling approach to identify potential operational response options (e.g., valve closures and flushing) that a utility could pursue to help reduce the spread of contamination following an incident.
